Vicki Traylor, MFT--Grief; Pet Loss Support Group

For many people the loss of a companion animal can be devastating--the loss of a best friend and companion, and the unconditional love and joy that they bring to our lives. Support, tools and information can make for a more graceful grieving process, and provide comfort during an extremely difficult time.

Group support can be a lifeline for those having trouble coping with such a loss. Each session will include time for group members to talk about their personal loss and progress, and also discuss topics regarding grief and loss, including:

  • What to expect during the grieving process.
  • Discovering how other losses, trauma and various old issues may be contributing to the depth of the current loss.
  • Tools for coping with sadness, anger and guilt.
  • Deciding if and when you are ready for another companion animal.
  • Additional resources--free groups, books and websites.

Groups currently forming. This will be a 6 week commitment, $45 per session, 1.5 hours, Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 PM.

Individual sessions are also available.
